Mounting game in South Africa is highly recommended due to the cheaper cost and years of experience our taxidermists have mounting African game animals. However, if you don’t want your trophy mounted in South Africa, we will have it dipped and packed so it is ready to be shipped to the United States
What is the process of booking an experience with Elite Hunting Outfitters?
Our booking process is designed to help you create the hunting experience of your dreams. Once you submit an inquiry, a member of our team will reach out to learn more about your dream adventure.
From there, we will discuss what sort of game you’re looking to hunt so we can determine the best base camp for your experience. We will discuss dates and details about your party so we can craft your itinerary and provide you with a quote.

We recommend .30 caliber or larger for hunting plains game and .375 H&H or larger for dangerous game.
When is the best time to hunt in South Africa?
The peak hunting season in South Africa is April to September, when the weather is the coolest and driest. However, the conditions you need to track and hunt big game successfully are found all year round.
What is the weather like in South Africa?
South Africa has many different terrains, so naturally, it has a variety of climates. However, the Northern Cape tends to be hot in the summer (with temperatures ranging from the high 80s to the low 90s) and quite cold in the winter (with highs in the 70s and the possibility of dropping below freezing).
Since South Africa is located below the equator, seasons are the opposite of those in the United States, so July is the coldest month.
Where is the best place to hunt in Africa?
Africa has many great hunting spots, but southern countries, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, are regarded as some of the best.
We may be a bit biased, but hunting the Northern Cape is pretty great!
Full payment of all safari and lodging expenses is due two weeks prior to arrival at camp. Animal rates and trophy fees are settled at the end of your trip.
However, we charge a deposit of 40% of your accommodation fees to secure your reservation.
What is your wounded game policy?
Your Professional Hunter will determine the status of any animal wounded or hit (both found and lost). The full animal fee will apply if an animal is deemed wounded.
Yes, we lead hunts for the Big 5. However, elephants and leopards cannot be taken in South Africa, so we would need to plan your hunt in a neighboring country. Luckily, our team has the resources to take you wherever you need to go in Africa for your desired trophy.
